Horowitz, Isaiah
(c. 1565-1630)
   Scholar and kabbalist. He was born in Prague. He became av bet din of Dubno in 1600, and av bet din and head of the yeshivah of Ostraha in 1602. He later served as av bet din of Frankfurt am Main and rabbi of Prague. After the death of his wife, he settled in Jerusalem, where he became the rabbi of the Ashkenazi community. His Two Tablets of the Convenant is a study of Jewish laws and customs influenced by the kabbalah. He was known as 'Sheloah' a name derived from the title of this work (Shene Luh ot ha-Berit).
